Thanks to Mr etresoft for having created that User Tip. It takes a lot of work just to keep on top of macOS updates; a continuous task many developers are just not interested in.
This is just what I wanted. Thank you. I'm running Sequoia 15.1, and it's basically the same. Your outline got me into the right place.
I'd completely forgotten that the usable directory is in /etc - and other is no usable documentation on the system pointing to that.
Now I've rediscovered that all is good thanks to your outline.
Loading and unloading the plist file works, but I'm not sure about the Disable key. I had to drop into Root Enabled mode to change that to Disabled, so it survived a reboot.
So I should be able to set it to Enabled the same way.
Anyway, it's all an experiment at the moment.
