Storing on iCloud without storing locally

Hi,

I have 250GB on my MacBook drive but I have 2T on the iCloud.

I wish to store my files on iCloud the same way it is stored on a remote drive without storing on the local drive but my hard driven is not full and it happen to be due to a file that stores locally a copy of the remote iCloud content.

Is there a way to use the storing on the iCloud remotely like a remote folder without having the local file that blocks my local drive? I still want to be able to access it from the MacBook when needed.

thank you,

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2
