since installing ios18 on my iphone14 i find it difficult to delete emails

My iPhone 14 was working fine until I installed ios18

Now I find it difficult to delete my emails. It can take numerous attempts to delete them, sometimes I have to power off my phone and then switch it back on again to clear emails.

My I pad works fine with the update.
