Music stopping after Siri finishes reading a text

Before the most recent upgrade, Siri would read texts as they came in while I was listening to music. When the text was finished the music continued.

Now, music stops after a text is read until I manually restart it. This is so annoying I turned off Siri but now I have to manually check my phone every few minutes for new texts.

is there a way to make it like it was before—the text reads and then the music just keeps playing? Why was this changed?
