Apple Intelligence using Clean Up on Photos app

very disappointing results using Clean Up to remove unwanted text on pictures. Apple warns that using the tool on faces can result in pixellation. I'm finding that the tool does this on anything not in the background. The old tool that Clean Up replaces (used it 1000s of times but the name escapes me) did a remarkable job removing unwanted artifacts overlaying the image beneath. Now all I get is a region of pixellated squares on top of the area being edited. I can reduce the size of the tool but that just results in smaller pixel squares. I'm continuing to play with it but really missing the older tool.

I do not understand why the retouch tool had to go. I appreciate new tools but so far I have not found a way to retouch except to pixelate which is not what I am trying to do.

The problem, for us "real" photographers, is that this new Clean Up tool doesn't work on RAW files. The Retouch function was perfect to remove blemishes on a face or even a car in the distance. Now nothing works anymore --neither the new Clean Up function nor the disappeared Retouch option. Apple used to make THE perfect tools for people working in the creative industry. It's not true anymore.

It is the intended behavior - a new feature when sharing photos. We can pixelate the faces so they cannot be recognized in the shared photos. Use Apple Intelligence in Photos on Mac - Apple Support

But tis new tool to pixelate a face makes it hard to remove minor blemishes from a face, even after zooming in and using the smallest brush size.

I'm experiencing the same problem with pixelation if I try to remove a blemish from a photo. How could it be this bad?! When I google how to address it, the only solution seems to be to use a third party photo edit tool. What?!?! I sure hope Apple fixes this or at least puts touch-up back in the editing tools. Clean up works great for removing complicated background noise in a photo but can't remove a simple pimple from a photo. Does anyone have an answer or suggestion?

Thank you. I had already used that link but glad you sent it in case I had the wrong one. I was hoping someone in the community would have discovered a work around. I guess I'll just wait and hope that Apple gets its act together and puts the Retouch option back in as well as the Clean up.
