Backing up videos from iCloud to an external drive is super slow (max 14 mbps)

Hi, I am trying to free up some space on my phone, and am downloading directly from iCloud to my Mac, and then transfer to external drive. The max speed I have seen on the download from iCloud is 14 mbps, meanwhile I have 856 videos to download, it is going to take an eternity to download.


I have a 1GB fiber line, and in the Speedtest I just did, I am showing almost 900 mbps available.


Is there a faster way to get access to my videos?

Mac mini, macOS 15.1
