How do I show my internal and external drives on the left side of my mac, after rebooting the drives default to the right side of my iMac desktop.

What happens when you drag them to the left side?
Apparently when rebooting the drive icons are remaining on the left as I expected, I guess it was just a fluke!
When I dragged them to the left side they are staying. So problem solved.
