Passing document from iPad to iMac

I remember posting something a while back about how to send a document from iPad to iMac but never did get a definitive answer.

Just recently when I was doing something on my iPad I happened to click share icon and noticed "Air Drop". After much experamenting found that WITH WIFI ON on both machines and the document on the iPad screen, click share, click Air Drop. switch to the iMac and click "Accept" in the notice and in seconds the document is in your download file. However, I prefer to click "Open" in the notice pane that pops up when the download is finished then save it appropriately from there.

Now, will do some experamenting to see if I can get it to go the other way.

There are lots of methods. If this is a document that you want to pass 1x then Airdrop is a great solution. However, if you will be editing the document on both platforms use your iCloud storage. You can access the files on the iPad by opening the Files app. On the Mac you can find the file by navigating to iCloud.com - logging into your account and then opening the Files folder.

I do this all the time, I have an Excel spreadsheet that I use daily and when I travel I bring the iPad to open and edit the file as needed. When I get home, I just open the file using the iMac. VERY simple and quick to do.
