ScanSnap 1500M on MacOS 15.1.

I just upgraded my very old MAc and got a Mac Mini. Now my Scansnap S1500M is not recognized anymore. according to an older Psot from Feb 24 ther is a solution:

As of February 23, 2024, the following procedure installs ScanSnap Manager v7.2.70.1001 on a Mac. With it, ScanSnap S1500M runs perfectly well.

[01] Go to this RICHO web page.

[02] In the middle of the page, click on MacSSInst2S1100WW.dmg to download it.

[03] Mount the dmg on the Desktop and open.

[04] It will have ScanSnap Installer. Double-click to launch it.

[05] Follow online steps, choosing ScanSnap Online Update download…

[06] Another volume “ScanSnap” mounts. Open it.

[07] Double-click on the ScanSnap “CD” icon to run it.

[08] When done, you will be greeted with a window “All updates For ScanSnap have been installed”

[09] Click on “Complete” to finish.

[10] In the Applications folder, you will see a folder “ScanSnap”. Open it.

[11] Here are the contents of the folder:

[12] Double-click on ScanSnap Manager to launch it.

[13] The familiar window will appear:

[14] Enjoy scanning.

Unfortunately When I click on the link to the download pogramm i get the following Message:

{"code":"404","message":"File Not Found"}

any suggestion what I can do to continue using the scanner and my Paerless Library?

The ScanSnap 1500M is supported without vendor drivers by using the paid VueScan Professional scanning application. There is a free trial.

I have owned VueScan Professional since 2010 and have never paid any upgrade fee for each newer version since then. I currently use it with a Canon LiDE 400 scanner on my Sequoia v15.1 M4 Mac mini Pro. I have never received any gratuity from Hamrick software for recommending their software in these communities, or by any other means.

If you cannot scan with the ScanSnap 1500M then Paperless probably wouldn't be relevant either. VueScan generates either a PDF (can be configured to automatically generate OCR'd PDFs) or images. You will need to check with the VueScan vendor, but I suspect that VueScan Professional has nothing to do with Paperless unless it can organize scanned PDFs.
