Apple Pencil 2nd Generation pressure sensitivity not a thing?

Hi! I own a iPad Air 4th gen and an Apple Pencil 2nd gen.

Recently, I've been experiencing pressure sensitivity issues with my Apple Pencil. When using Procreate brushes that I normally use, I've noticed I have to apply more pressure for the lines to appear. I also tested it with the built-in Apple Notes app and found that I need to press harder to write for the pencil and brush pens.

I visited the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for help, but they told me there’s nothing wrong with my Pencil and that pressure sensitivity isn’t a feature of the 2nd gen; they said it’s only available on the newest Apple Pencil Pro, which confused me. Is it true that pressure sensitivity isn't a feature of the 1st and 2nd gen Pencils?

With the sole exception of the low-cost USB-C Pencil that lacks this feature, all other models of Apple Pencil support pressure sensitivity. However, implementation of pressure sensitivity for Apple Pencil is entirely reliant upon individual Apps.

Are you using a screen protector? While good quality screen protectors (e.g., Zagg / OtterBox) will have negligible (if any) impact upon the Pencil's functionality, some third-party screen protectors can negatively impact the Pencil.
