Facebook Home page screen changed on my iPad

Recently opened Facebook on my iPad. Noticed immediately that the screen changed. Used to have a search column on the right side of the page with a list of names(to go to them in messenger ), and below that a column listing recently active groups. Now I get the Facebook page only, with a blank gray screen on either side, each about 2 inches. Now and before pics attached. Would like old page back. If I delete the FB app and reinstall, sometimes the old screen reappears, but reverts to the new screen as soon as I move, say, to notifications.

Exactly the same thing is happening here…..have tried other things like clearing the cache and deleting the app (and messenger) as well but it’s the same as the question above. Also when you click on a notification that has comments on it, you get a completely different screen layout as well, as per the screen shots below.

Also when clicking into “memories” very picture comes up very large (again see screen shot) Any help will be grateful. It very frustrating as one iPad is like it, but another one is working fine.
