Airplay Volume Control - Separate From Turning On/Off Speakers

While adjusting the volume on various home speakers, I sometimes accidentally turn off the speaker. This happens more than 50% of the time. If I realize during the process that the speaker is about to turn off, I am able to slide my finger off the target speaker to cancel the action but it is still annoying. To prevent this, it would be nice if the On/Off control was separate from the volume.
