Magic Trackpad 2 (A1535) Connects, but won't work

This trackpad has 100% charge and will connect to the computer but it won't recognize any input (no swiping or tapping). I've updated software, reset computer, disconnected/forgotten device and re-added it, flipped the power switch multiple times and nothing works. I've watched videos and read posts but can't seem to make this thing work. It worked on Friday before I left work and now Monday it is being super stubborn. Looking for that super secret fix that is evading my searches. Please help if possible.
