How do I remove a notification email address from my Apple ID

I tried updating my Apple ID to my current email address but it says I cannot use the same email as my notification email address. When I try to remove the notification email it tells me to go to Settings > Apple account but there doesn’t appear to be anything related to a contact email. I’ve checked several other threads and the replies are mostly generic Apple articles that are completely irrelevant to the actual question being asked. As far as I’ve seen, there doesn’t appear to be a solution, please confirm.

Tapping on any of my emails doesn’t do anything. My only option is to add or remove emails. The only email that indicates what its used for is the apple ID which I cannot change. I’ve tried deleting, re-adding, re-deleting, everything, to the other email addresses but it doesn’t let me change the Apple ID at any point (again, appears there is no way to remove a notification email address). This leads to the issue I outlined where I receive the message that my apple ID cannot be the same as my notification email.
