My 6 months old Macbook Air M3 is always charging to 100% even though my Optimized battery charging is on all the time.
And it goes really fast over 80%, it just doesn't slow down.
I know it should have learned my charging routine but it always overrides the one rule that is supposed to follow: not to charge over 80%.
Why is that? Does anyone else have this problem?

I really like the fact that my 2024 iPad Air allows me to manually set the charging level to 80% and allows me to make the decision instead of what appears to be some mysterious algorithm making this decision.
I rnormally leave my laptop plugged in and rarely need the battery to be fully charged to 100%.
Apple - if you're listening - please give ME the option to charge to 80% while plugged in. If you want to keep the other option and let the laptop optimize charging above 80% when needed, that's fine. Clearly, the power management hardware is built into the system. Please let me take advantage of it. I'm an adult!

Optimized does not mean always stop at 80%, it means stop at 80% if you usually use your Mac connected to AC power. If you run on battery some of the time, it will charge the battery to full.
