Burning CD with external burner problem, i.e., insert blank disc message.

I use Apple Music to create a playlist of my own created music from Logic X Pro. I then burn the playlist to a CD. My MacBook Pro is not recognizing a blank disc I'm using to burn my music. I burned one disc and the end of my list was cut off. I burned a second disc at a slower speed and it seemed to be fine. A message came up for the third disc, insert blank disc, while I had a blank disc already in the burner. I went through the same problem last year and threw out a bunch of discs that did not burn properly. I tried contacting Apple support but since I'm using a Pioneer Burner BDR-XD05S external device, Apple was no help.
