Using iCloud for my emails.

I need to start over. I didn’t make myself clear previously.

My only email address is my Apple id - name@icloud.com that I use in Mail on iPhone and iPad.

A couple weeks ago i decided to try icloud for my mail. I used iphone Settings - Name - iCloud (iCloud+) and pressed Mail icon to use email on iCloud using my apple id/email address.

Now I don’t like using only iCloud for email. I want to stop using iCloud and access my mail on my iPhone Mail app. But when I use the Mail app now it is showing iCloud as the source of my emails.

I turned off the Mail icon on Settings - iCloud , but now when I press the Mail app in my iPhone, I get this screen that looks like it is asking me to set up a brand new account.

I tried using “other” to use iPhone Mail again but it gives me an error message

My internet network connection is fine. The information I entered is correct.

What does “this account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?”

Are you kidding me? Why?

I simply don’t want to use iCloud as the only storage for my emails. I want my email stored in Mail on my iPhone so I can access emails without an internet connection.

No, that first screen is NOT asking you to set up a new account. It's asking you to pick what type of account you already have, in your case, iCloud and then set it up. So, in the first screen, tap iCloud and follow the prompts.

Do not use "Other".

Note that accessing your mail through a browser at www.icloud.com doesn't preclude using the same address in Mail on your phone or desktop. You can do both.

That’s not what i am asking. I want to be able to see existing emails on my iPhone when i am not near an internet connection and can’t use icloud.

I understand what you're asking.

Go to Settings>Mail>Mail Accounts. Do you see your iCloud account listed? If not, tap on "Add account." When you see the screen you first posted above, tap on "iCloud" and enter your iCloud email in the box at the top of the screen. Follow the onscreen prompts.

Note that your iCloud email is not necessarily the same as your Apple ID. For example, my Apple ID is username@gmail.com but my iCloud email address is usernamelastname@icloud.com.

Using iCloud for my emails.
