How to enable SMS autofill on my MacBook Air

My Mac used to autofill security codes that were sent through sms, then stopped. All of the instructions I get on this forum say to change settings in my phone via  Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding. However on my iPhone 16 pro there is no "Settings > Messages" so can someone tell me where to turn this feature on in my phone or what I need to do to get sms autofill back? I'm on safari if that matters. thanks!
