Since the iOS 18 update, I’ve noticed it’s no longer possible to add a new album directly to a folder while organizing photos. Instead, I have to exit, create a new album separately, and then return to add the picture, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
Has anyone found a workaround or alternative method to simplify this process?

Unfortunately, it's always been like this in iOS. For those of us with Macs, we arrange folders and albums in Photos on the Mac, and the changes are copied to the phone--so I don't have much experience with doing that stuff directly on the phone. But in iOS, you add the albums when you create the folder. You can then copy all the pictures from an existing album and add those to the new one in the folder, then delete the outside album. It's way more cumbersome. Any apparent workarounds I've seen have turned out to be very limited.

Hey-- I looked again at my coping pictures from an album and adding them to a new album. It turns out that the first album disappeared-- it moved the album from one folder to another! But this is during the creation of an album.
I haven't really fully check this out, yet. Try it and let us know what you find out!
