I think it's horrible that Apple can't conceive of a way to not have the names I have so painstakingly added to photos disappear. What about a simple radio button "lock faces" or something. I don't know, I'm just an accountant.

You don't say what device or OS you're using. On a Mac we use keywords kindly provided for that. For an iPhone, the Caption is best. I use both.
