iPhone Calendar Alerts / Apple Watch Conflict

Restarting this discussion, as it would not let me reply – when I use my iPhone, and I am wearing my Apple Watch my Calendar event notifications WILL NOT sound on my iPhone. It is vital that I receive my calendar notifications on my iPhone, as I set a specific notification sound for my important meetings, that I cannot miss. I am so busy each day that I need a consistent LOUD calendar sound from my iPhone to tell me to move on to my next meeting.

I found this thread today, and I have sent my feedback to Apple, after an hour speaking to a very helpful Apple Senior advisor today:

iPhone Calendar Alerts / Apple Watch Conf… - Apple Community

Has anyone found any other work arounds, other the one mentioned in the above thread (to turn off wrist detection?)

The way notifications have worked if you have an Apple Watch (and the way they have worked since the watch was released) are as follows:

iPhone locked/watch locked - notifications sound on iPhone

iPhone locked/watch unlocked - notifications sound on watch

iPhone ulocked/watch unlocked - notifications sound on iPhone

Notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

You can turn off wrist detection so that your watch locks. However, you won't be able to use some features and to do more than see the main face, you'll need to enter a passcode.

Make sure that haptics are set to prominent in the Watch app.
