No alarm/timer sound in Assistive Access

iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 17.6.1

I’m using assistive access and when I set an alarm or timer it lights up the screen but does not make a sound. It doesn’t even vibrate.

The volume is all the way up and the ringer is on. When I press a sound to choose which one to use with the alarm/timer I hear it fine.

I’ve seen this same issue in the forum but no replies yet. Does anyone have any advice?
