MacBook Pro mid 2014 intel duo. Opened to wake and no top menu bar. Reset SMC. Opened in safe mode. Run disk utility, nothing to report. After each operation re opened in normal mode, still no top bar and some preferences are frozen. Grateful for any advice community - thanks!

Typically, if things are working fine in safe mode, this indicates that you have a login item or a system extension that interferes with the system.
