Confirm Mac password not working

I just got my MacBook Air and I have transferred all my stuff from HP to Mac. Now it’s asking for me to confirm my password and resume data sync. Neither of these options work at all. For the password, it just loads and buffers for a while then the buffering screen goes away. When I go to click on it again it won’t let me click on it at all. Same either way resuming data sync. I had this problem with my last MacBook earlier today (I had so many issues just setting that one up I returned it for a new one) now I’m still running into some of the same issues
