Order Info page not recognising entry
I mistakenly made a “Guest Order” on Apple.com in the US. Now I can’t see the order when I log into my Apple Account.
In the email from Apple informing me of the order shipment, I get a link to view the order:
"How do I view or change my order?
Go to Order Status, then sign in to add your order to your Apple Account. You can make changes to, return, or cancel eligible items there."
Proceeding with that, I see the shipment and it’s titled as a Guest Order. A dialog box is there to “Add my Apple ID”
"Add this order to your Apple ID to make changes or return or cancel an item.
Add to Apple ID"
Moving on, this screen eventually appears:
Manage this order with your Apple ID.
For added security, please enter the contact phone number you used to place your order.
Phone number
Then, this happens:
Phone number
1234567890
Please enter a valid phone number using only numbers.
Continue
After I entered the number and clicked the Continue button, the number entered turns Red and the caution appears also in Red letters.
My profile almost always has numbers entered in the universal dialling format, e.g. +1 (123) 456 7890 and an Autofill prompt reflecting that also appears as a suggestion.
However, regardless of accepting that or not - and even disabling the Autofill prompts or Autocompletes - I’m still getting the same error message.
Asking Apple to log this order into my Apple Account has been pretty frustrating with a few hours spent chasing our tails via 1 800 MY APPLE. Now they’ve assigned a Case ID but I imagine everyone’s swamped with Black Friday looming!
Any thoughts or helpful suggestions are most welcome
Thanks,
