Adobe as default to open PDFs from Safari on my MacBook Air

up until now I was able to set adobe as the default pdf reader on my other laptops.

when I search online, I only find a way using-preferences-security-internet plugins.

the problem is I just got a new macair and it doesn’t give me an option for plugins.

thank you
