Apple Pencil Pro Warranty

I recently received the Apple Pencil Pro as a gift from a family member. However, the Pencil is completely unresponsive. I’ve tried charging it, but it won’t turn on. The issue might be related to it being left unopened for about two months on a shelf before I finally unboxed it. Since then, it hasn’t worked at all. Would Apple’s warranty cover this issue? It’s still within the one-year warranty period and has never been used. The damage doesn’t appear to be due to any external factors, so I’m wondering if this situation qualifies for a warranty replacement or repair.

FWIW. Rechargeable lithium batteries tend to lose their ability to be charged if stored for long (think months) periods with little or no charge. This may be the case here.

Apple does provide a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. Whether or not the family member who actually purchased the pencil has to bring it to either an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Reseller, you/they would need a copy of the original purchase receipt.

Still an Apple Technician will need to examine the pencil to verify that it could be a defect.

I suggest that you contact your local Apple Store to see what they can do for you.
