Copy downloaded files from iPhone to Mac

Downloads on the iPhone go into the Downloads folder on the iPhone.

You can see them using the Files app.

When connecting iPhone to computer, cannot view the downloads folder (or really any folder) on the iPhone.

Apps are listed in the Finder when the iPhone is selected under Files, and you can view files saved in those apps but cannot see the downloads folder.

Currently I have to use AirDrop from iPhone to Mac.

Any better way?

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

You need not copy the files between devices, they are available when you enable iCloud Drive on a Mac.
