Incorrect medication reminders in Apple Health when synced across devices

I have enabled Apple Health to sync between my iPad and iPhone via iCloud. I have my medications entered in Health so that I get reminders to take them on both of these devices. There is a medication that I have scheduled for 9:00. Yesterday, I took this med at 8:45, and immediately logged it as taken on my iPhone. At 9:00, I received a Health notification on iPad to take the medication. I thought that perhaps the fact that I had already logged the medication on iPhone had not synced to iPad yet, so I tapped on the iPad medication notification to open the Health app there. I saw that the medication was logged as taken, so figured that the information must have synced between devices when I opened the app after the notification was issued. But then 30 minutes later, my iPad issued a critical notification to again remind me to take the medication that I had already taken and that I had already verified that the Health app on my iPad showed as taken.
