Unlocking Photos on External Drive for renaming

Organizing Photos on an external drive. Renaming and creating separate files.


Not using the Photo App. Some photos are locked. I cannot rename them . It shows a lock on the bottom left corner. Opening in preview it shows the photo as locked. I have not tried moving to Lightroom or Photoshop yet.


Any Ideas on how to unlock?
