Hooking up my F8 canon camera up to my apple studio

I have Mac Studio and wont to record A video for podcasts and my audio will be recorded in my Daw (logic)along side of something like riverside program; now my question is do I use a hdmi cable to hook up to my F8 camera?

Nope, sorry, MRMayberry , hdmi is usually for output, you’d need a copy of Canon’s Webcam Utility software, plus the camera ( for video only) , it doesn’t record audio( use a mic connected to your Mac to do that) .., you may need either a canon streaming kit or an hdmi to video

capture device ( elgato cam link 4k or Blackmagic Atem Mini) to do that, plus the camera needs to be fully

charged and you need to sync it with your streaming platform.. there’s a video link here( in the article) : https://www.canon.ca/en/Articles/2020/Use-Canon-Camera-as-Webcam… there’s also a list of which Canon cameras can do that… ask Canon… i checked and i couldn’t find your camera in Canon’s current lineup 🤷‍♂️
