Goto system settings, then WiFi . Find the unused networks that you don’t want to connect to. To the right of the WiFi network is a circle with a i in the middle, and then tap on that i icon. You will see ‘Auto-Join’, if it’s green it will auto join. For the unused networks just turn off green button. If you never plan on connecting to them, then use the top “Forget This Network”. This will remove said networks from your list.

Very helpful, thank you. You did miss out one stage though. After clicking on WiFi you need to then click on “edit” at top right of the screen which then gives a list of all networks that you have set up.
