I've paired and unpaired the devices, reset and restarted both of them, and toggled the screenshot button, yet nothing happens. Screenshots only appear on my iPhone after restarting my Apple Watch, and even then, they only show up for a short time before stopping again. What should I do?

I just found out that if I open the photos app on the watch, and kill it, and restart it, the screenshots are synced.
Further testing shows that it doesn’t always work immediately. The stupid thing is that photos from the iPhone are synced no problem to the watch, but not vise versa.

This issue is fixed for me since iOS 18.3 + WatchOS 11.3
Force restarting both devices is a temporary solution.
Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
To force restart your watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.
According to other users, Apple seems to be aware of this issue, and may address this in an upcoming watchOS update.
On the paired iPhone, go to:
Watch > My Watch > Photos
and make sure the appropriate Sync functions are enabled.
Which iPhone do you use?
I have no issues, syncing screenshots from the watch, using my iPhone 12mini (iOS 18.2) and the Ultra 2(watchOS 11.2)
In the WatchApp/Settings/General/Enable Screenshots should be switched on, and in the Photos App on the iPhone ->View Options->showing Screenshots as well.
Everybody having this issue should use the Feedback link to tell Apple directly about it. Apple does not follow these communities, so this is the only way to make them aware of software problems.
I've had the same thing happen after upgrading my iPhone 15 Pro to iOS 18.2.1 and Apple Watch to watchOS 11.2. The screenshots are nowhere to be found in the iPhone's Photo's app.
Weirdly enough thought, when connecting the iPhone with my Macm the Image Capture app does show the screenshots.
Any restrictions set up in Screen Time on your iPhone, or a profile installed?
Did you try to set it up as a new device after erasing and paring it again to your iPhone?

Just mention your current watchOS and iOS version in the description for your issue. It takes some time until all Support pages are updated.
Maybe they aggregate issues according to the given iOS and WatchOS. It’s probably better to wait until 18.2 and 11.2 are available.
Absolutely. Notifications, calls, messages, even camera control works from Apple Watch.
don’t know what is going on. Screenshots appear on iPhone only after restarting Apple Watch for a short period and then stop appearing again. 😭
I'm on iOS 18.3.1 and watchOS 11.3.1 and it still isn't working for me (though I only just realized today that they were no longer syncing). I just filed a bug report via that Feedback link for the Watch. All of the suggestions I've found have not fixed it, even temporarily.
