So basically still not solved - com.apple.hiservices-xpcservice not repsonding.

I had this problem for a years on my 2019 MB Pro 16, Intel i9 and previous to the same on my

MB Pro 15, Intel i7

It’s been in posts here and elsewhere for at least 9 years. Lot’s of input here from really engaged community members but as far as I know nothing from Apple. Why not Tim?

Now I have a MB Pro 16 M3 Pro and the same issue is still available. Impressive how this problem lives on inspite of so many OS updates.

Would be nice to have it ironed out by the time the M5 series comes out. Any ideas Apple? Mr. Cook?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.1

This is a community of Apple users. We are not Apple itself or Tim Cook. Apple doesn’t read these posts (other than their moderators, who only read reported comments or ones with unclear titles). On these communities Apple very rarely (if ever) replies.

For this issue should probably submit a bug report on Apple’s feedback page under “MacBook Pro.”

If you want to actually talk to someone from Apple, contact the Official Apple Support.

In the meantime, sorry, I don’t know of any fixes (if there is one). Maybe someone else on this community might know if there’s some kind of workaround.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Best wishes!

Wasn't expecting him to. But it would still be nice to have the bug removed.

Just for fun, I checked most of the Macs in the house. A Late 2015 iMac running Monterey, an iMac Pro running Sequoia, a 2017 iMac running Ventura, an M3 iMac and M1 MacBook Air running Sequoia, and none have the hang.

I took the easy way out and ran CleanMyMac on my Macbook Pro.

Glad it's working but, CleanMyMac is one of the worst apps one can install on a Mac. If you do a search here on ASC, you will find more than 10,000 reports of it causing problems to the point of needing to reinstall macOS. I would never install it on my Macs.

Just to complete this thread.

I took the easy way out and ran CleanMyMac (BTW: great software MacPaw) on my Macbook Pro.

This got rid of all the left over junk from previous software installations. I Also stopped all unnecessary startup daemons. I'm not pointing any fingers but there was a lot of MS stuff in there. Also Garmin and Jeppesen due to my profession.

The issue has gone away, for now at least. Happy little com.apple.hiservices-xpcservices running on my MB Pro now.

Unfortunately I will not know which of them caused the issue, as I have nearly always had MS Office and Garmin & Jeppesen on all of my laptops.

Thanks again for the replies.

Good idea!

So I just did the same. My wife's 2023 M2 MB Air and her 2014 MB Air on Big Sur are both running perfectly without this issue.

Unfortunately this means I'll have to reset my MB Pro to the factory settings and go forward from there installing one programme at a time until I find the culprit. I hope it's not something I really need.

Thanks for taking the time to check at your home and give me that tip.

Kind regards
