Play Counts not updating on macOS 15.2 and iOS 18.2

I have my library of downloaded music on my Macbook Air M1, not using Apple Music.

I have a selection of my library downloaded on my iPhone that I synced from my Macbook through Finder.

Play counts on Macbook update immediately, play counts on iPhone, doesn't show on Macbook even after syncing through wi-fi or cable.

Same account on both devices, Home Sharing on.

I read on other posts that this was a common issue but apparently was fixed in later updates, but not in my case. What can I do? Is it much to expect that my iPhone update the play counts of my library in my Mac? Am I missing some configuration or something?
