I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 18. Everything seems to be fine except for one annoying thing. The "Hide Alerts" option in Message no longer functions. I keep getting alerts and notifications from the groups that I have silenced. Is this a bug?

Happening to me too. One particular group with one iPhone and one android user. tried all the usual suggestions… close all apps, restart, toggle hide alerts, etc
iOS 18.4 appears to have fixed the issue for me. It was one of the most annoying iOS bugs I have encountered in 10+ years. Hope it’s fixed for others and stays fixed

Sorry to hear. After the 18.4 update, I had to toggle Hide Alerts for certain RCS group messages and the alerts finally remained hidden after toggling. Super annoying bug
That's the problem - all the workarounds are temporary. Apple needs to fix the underlying problem with RCS messages or message groups.
