Resolved: "CursorUIViewService" Not Responding and Performance Issues with Microsoft Excel on Mac

nabling Caps Lock while working in Microsoft Excel on a Mac can cause performance lags, and you may notice the "CursorUIViewService" becoming unresponsive.

Solution 1: Permanently disable Caps Lock by following these steps:

  • Go to System SettingsKeyboard ShortcutsModifier Keys.
  • Set Caps Lock Key to No Action.

Solution 2: Disable the Caps Lock indicator by running the following command in the Terminal:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist redesigned_text_cursor -dict-add Enabled -bool NO

(Note: This setting may reset after macOS updates.)

This worked for me. Thank you!

iPad, iPadOS 18
