Can I use a Thunderbolt cable with Windows Migration Assistant to transfer material between a Lenovo Carbon x1 gen 6 (Windows 11) and a new MacBook Pro? The Lenovo has a Thunderbolt 3 connection, and the MacBook Pro has a Thunderbolt 5. I have a Thunderbolt 5 cable which is backwards compatible.
AFAIK, Thunderbolt only works Mac-to-Mac. However, you can use an ethernet cable to connect the two (you’ll need an adapter on the Mac side), which will be faster than wireless.
Thanks for this. Will use Cat 8 ethernet cable and an usb ethernet adapter on the MacBook Pro side capable of high speeds. Limiter will be the Lenovo.
