Samsung T7 SSD reformatting issue on Mac

Hi

Just received a couple more Samsung T7 1tb external ssd drives to use with my Mac mini.

But when I try to erase and reformat from FatEx, I get the attached msg. I don't recall having this problem before with T7s.

What to do?

Very often the 1st try to format fails so just try again...

If that does not help, boot in safe mode (so some background processes like Spotlight, Photos etc do not have a chance grabbing the disk), and then try again.

Also make sure to select View > Show All Devices and select the topmost device if you want to reformat the whole disk.

Also make sure not to install or use Samsung disk utility software unless really needed.

Thank you for your reply.

This morning, I tried for the 5th time and success!

What I failed to do after deleting the software that came with it was unmounting then remounting the drive. That's what I did starting from scratch with the 2nd new T7 and it reformatted no problem.

Thanks again for your help, maybe this can help others.
