How can I enable microphone access for Teams on iPhone?

I am unable to grant MS Teams access to the Mic on iPhone. I am updated on the latest iOS 18.2.

In teams when trying to join a meeting or receive a call I get a pop-up indicating I need to access the settings to give Teams access to my microphone. When I view the teams app settings- there is no option for microphone access.

when I navigate to security settings>microphone to give access that way, teams does not appear as an app that has requested access.

i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, or signing into another account hoping it will allow for the option to grant mic access but no luck. it seems I’m stuck in a loop. Is there anyway to grant mic access to an app without that app requesting access first?
