Issue installing Hallmark Card Studio v22

Downloaded the software without issue on my Mac M1 desktop; OS Sonoma 14.6.1. When I moved it into the Applications folder, icon immediately appeared in dock. But when I clicked it to open, I got a popup that told me it can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. It's been a while since I've tried to install third-party software. Do I need to disable something in my OS system to bypass this roadblock? Thanks in advance.

Check out Cardia from Addison Software in the App Store. It does not have a catalog of images but you can find any image you want on the internet and use that. It works with Mojave all the way to the latest Sequoia and is regularly updated. And it's designed for the Macintosh and only for Macintosh. No Windows nonsense.

I’d expect a app to open directly, so what happened here is unclear. Whether the vendor didn't sign the app for some reason, or something else happened to the app, or it’s a hacked app?

For assistance with this app, check with the vendor: https://www.hallmarksoftware.com/products/Card_Studio_for_Mac/Default.aspx?preflanguage=5&rs=48

Did you get this to work I’m considering buying this I have iMac 14.6.1

Given the website lists the app as incompatible with macOS 15, I would look elsewhere.

Yeah, you’re not (yet) running macOS 15, but macOS 15 has been available for app testing since June; over half a year.

There are other greeting card apps, and there are greeting cards templates for common apps including Pages.

Thank you . The apps seem to charge per card and I want to make multiple cards to sell. Thanks again

Pages templates are either free, or one price.

And it’s quite feasible to modify existing or create your own new Pages templates using your own photos, art, or otherwise.

And as mentioned, there are other apps available in the Mac app store, and elsewhere.

The Hallmark app has been an ongoing source of discussions around here.

Yes, I did get Card Studio to work. Not sure what I did precisely, just kept fiddling with it until I wore it down perhaps. I did notice that in a card I was designing, there were all sorts of image sizing artifacts showing on the screen. They didn't interfere with printing but it was an annoyance. Went to the internet to explore what was going on with that and hit upon a Card Studio offer with the notice that it is not compatible with Sequoia, which I was on the verge of installing on my iMac. I just sent an email to Hallmark asking if there were plans to upgrade Card Studio to work with Sequoia. If not I may abandon the card software and use the Pages templates I used in the past. I must say I'm disappointed. Such issues make Card Studio seem like a patch software product for Mac users instead of one created specifically for Mac. I'll be interested to see what Hallmark says about an upgrade. Best wishes.
