making a default phone number?

In my contacts list, I have several phone numbers for a client. How do I establish one of them as the default phone number? I see it posted that "To change the default phone number or email address for a contact

method, touch and hold the button for that method below the contact’s name, then tap a selection in the list." In iOS18.2, I don't see any such button. This goes for my Mac contacts list as well.
