Unauthorized Apple Account creation with personal email address

Someone in China or Taiwan or Hong Kong seems to have created an Apple account with one of my email addresses. They changed password, security question, date of birth, payment method since i received by email all these notifications. How can i delete this account since it is not mine?

Since it’s one of my email addresses, i received email notifications of changes made.

usually, Apple verifies accounts so this is strange. I tried to change the password but they ask for security questions (changed by the hacker/scammer) and it is all written in Chinese. So hope Apple can delete this account.

Apple Account creation verifies email account access, so this is probably a scam or other phishing shenanigans (not an actual Apple account, just made-up email chatter), or your own mail account has been breached.

Or if not, and simple, set up your mail server rules to delete any related mail that might arrive, and enjoy the rest of your day.

Or if real, you could conceivably use account recovery and then account deletion, but you'll want to re-secure your mail account and mail clients first.

Some of what you say is confusing.

You say they created the account, which presumably means you did not. If they could do that, how do you know all those details if you cannot get into the account?

Your underlying issue is the person seems to have access to the email account. You need to regain access to that. You should then contact Apple ans see if they can suggest something. You are basically in the position that a hacker would be in if you had access to somebody's email account but not their Apple Account and are now trying to get into their Apple account to do damage.

Thanks, the scammer/hacker used an email address that is initially not linked to my Apple account (i use gmail for Apple account and my hotmail email address seemed to be linked to the Apple account since I received those notifications on my hotmail address. So im not technically trying to regain access to my Apple account since i initially didn’t have an Apple account linked to hotmail. I want to delete this account/unlink it to my hotmail. And hopefully, my hotmail has not been hacked.

You’re not likely ever going to get this Apple Account back, as you’ve seemingly lost control of it.

This is no longer your account, effectively.

If there are payment cards associated with the lost Apple Account, get those cancelled.

Get another Apple Account, migrate your devices to the new account, enable two-factor authentication, don’t re-use passwords, etc.
