Disk Not Ejected properly 3 Seagate failures in Time Machine

Using two Seagate external drives (2TB and 5TB partitioned) in a 7 port hub, with USB to USB3 adapter to M3Pro. OS current. Drives alternate for Time Machine. One drive gave "Disk Not Ejected properly" and went to READ ONLY. Two prior drives just failed, unrecoverable.

Sure wish Time Machine could backup to iCloud Drive.

Sorry, missed your reply. Did you have any luck with the Samsung SSDs?

Just to be sure in reading the table you provided, you have four different SG drive models? The last one is no longer being used? ... correct? As, as you stated, all three of them fail with your current Mac ... correct?

Your initial post indicated that you have two SG drives (2 & 5 TB) and that they are partitioned. How do they relate to this table? What are they partitioned as? Are they all HDDs or SSDs, or a combination of both? How are they formatted?

My initial guess is the firmware in your Seagate drives is controlling when these drives power down when not in use. This may affect TM's ability to run the backup process successfully with them.

Thank you. It is a powered hub, via Amazon https://a.co/d/c4QfXiq Powered USB Hub 3.0, Atolla 7-Port USB Data Hub Splitter with One Smart Charging Port and Individual On/Off Switches and 5V/4A Power Adapter USB Extension for MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini

All 3 of the failed drives had been used on a previous MacOS and last Mac. The connection had been thru the hub, or at times thru individual direct USB connections to machine.

I'm changing to Samsung SSDs.

Thanks again Tesserax
