Why aren't my Apple Watch screenshots saving to my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 13 and Apple Watch S9 with the latest firmware. But I can't take a screenshot on the watch and save it on my phone, they simply don't show up. The screenshots I took earlier appear after either the phone or the watch is rebooted. I don't know what to do, maybe it's related to iCloud synchronisation?

This is a software issue in the latest watchOS 11 version.

It happens to me as well, and a force restart only works once. After that syncing screenshots to the iPhone requires a new restart.

You should also let Apple know directly about this issue by using the Feedback link, as this is the only way to reach them.

Medication reminders do work in OS11.2, that is not a known OS issue

  • Force restart the watch... hold in the crown and the side button together until the white apple appears (can take up to 15 seconds) then release both.
  • Force restart the iphone... Press and quickly release volume up button, press and quickly release volume down button, press and hold in the power (RH Side) button button until the white apple icon appears (can take 30 seconds) then release.

I’m sure you’ve tried but first navigate to the watch app on your phone and make sure that “photo syncing” is turned on under the photos app on the watch app. Also try restarting your phone and watch together, in this case your watch might not be the issue here. But also one thing to check is to see if the screen shots are being saved to a specific album within the photo app. Go to your watch app>photos> then scroll down to “album” and change the sync album to “none”, and then take off the photo limit.

Don’t hesitate to ask for help.

I’m new to Apple Watch ⌚️ series 7 with an iPhone 13 and until I updated my iOS screenshots worked perfectly well. Now they are appearing days after being taken. I contacted support who told me there is an issue with this with the latest watchOS version 11.2 and it’s being worked on apparently. My medication reminders don’t work either so I’m hoping they’ll be aware of this also and when they bug fix the operating system that’s ironed out too!
