How can I stop spam Calendar invitations on iPhone?

Spam calendar entries are coming through my Hotmail email onto my iPhone calendar even though they don’t show up in my Outlook calendar. I tried everything to delete them with no success. I don’t want to remove my Hotmail calendar as a source to my iPhone calendar app because I receive relevant invitations that way. Ultimately, my conclusion was that “Siri suggestions“ was the culprit. Once I unchecked, Siri suggestions, the unwanted invitations disappeared from my Apple calendar. My question is: does anyone know if these spam invitations may have left unwanted trails, or spyware (for lack of a better term)? Especially since I tried declining them to get them off my calendar. Apple should work on fixing the feature that caused this new vulnerability. I know staying a step ahead of the ill intended spammers/hackers is a tough job, but it’s what they signed up for.

This is Apple support document on how to remove spam event/calendar Delete calendars and events on iPhone - Apple Support

Generally those event pop up after you've mistakenly click on an email link that included a calendar invite.

Your phone can't be hacked, don't know about your hotmail account.

I appreciate the response. But I can tell you definitively I did not inadvertently click on any links. And the events did not show on the source outlook (Hotmail) calendar. I knew how to delete an event. But every time I did it, it disappeared for only a moment…and then reappeared. Declining them did the same thing. “Siri Suggestions” was interpreting events from spam sitting in my junk mail (which I never look at). Only turning off “Siri suggestions” made them disappear. While I’m glad I figured that out finally, I’m irritated that it forced me to send “declines” to spammers…as I would have never done that otherwise.
