How to Remove MDM Lock from a Purchased Mac Studio M2 Max?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Mac Studio M2 Max from an eBay seller. After receiving it, I found out it has an MDM lock(Mobile Device Management lock).

Unfortunately, I was unaware of this at the time of purchase, although the seller did mention it in the listing, which I missed.

When I received the Mac Studio, it required me to contact the MDM administrator to unlock it. The seller has been unresponsive since I reached out.

Does anyone know if there’s a way for me to remove the MDM lock legally, or am I stuck with this issue? I would really appreciate any guidance or advice on how to resolve this.

Thanks in advance!

there is no way to remove most MDM lock except for the ones added for Parental Control.

That Mac can not be upgraded in this form, and is essentially unusable because of that.

if you have an unbroken trail of invoices for sales (that include serial numbers) back to the original Authorized Apple Reseller, the Genius Bar techs can completely ERASE that Mac for you.
