I am trying to enter some musical chords, and I want to send the lowest note of the chord to a different/separate MIDI channel or instrument channel strip. I want to do this both in Logic Pro and in Mainstage, so I imagine it would work similarly in both apps.

Thanks, I already knew about those options. I'm looking for a realtime solution but don't know how to use scriptor. I don't know the scripting language. I can't find any scripts that would do the job or are even close.
Practically speaking, why don't you use 2 separate software instruments (with the same patch/preset) to accomplish the job? You can create a key limit for both instrument tracks within the Track Inspector and so long as they are record armed, you should be good to go.
