While setting my sliders to 0.0. in Logic, one of my tracks is in the red

I have set my sliders to 0.0. But for some reason, one of my tracks is in the red (4.6?!). I did add reverb and I stereo panned the tracks to fatten the sound but when I mess with that the red doesn't go away. What's strange is the two drum tracks I am panning are the same and yet the one on the left has a lower peak level than the one on the right. I have no idea how I achieved that. What I also find odd is the peak level is being displayed in three places graphically but it's not touching the red in every case - shouldn't it be consistent? It feels like Logic is doing something wrong and not displaying things correctly. I was just about to bounce things so I could listen to my song in the car but I'm thinking it's going to sound like if I leave it set this way. It feels wrong to lower the level of the tracks since I usually have things set at 0.

Hi there,

The Channel Strip on the right represents Logic Pro's Stereo Output. It's the final stage where all tracks come together for processing. If you would like to see the other Drum track, simply click on it and you should see its channel strip on the left hand (called The Inspector). A good practice would be to add a Compressor or better yet a Limiter to your Stereo Output to prevent it from clipping and hence going in the red. Conversely, drop the overall level of all the tracks to create more headroom.

Hope this helps,
