I am from Sweden, currently studying in the USA, and I’m considering purchasing an iPhone here. Would I be able to use an EU SIM card in an unlocked iPhone bought in the USA? Are there any other things I should keep in mind?

All models of iPhone sold in the US are equipped with eSIMs only. They have no capability to use a Nano SIM. Also note that the warranty will be valid only in the US.

European phone companies sell eSims so it depends which EU country you’re going to and whether you can find a phone company that sells eSims. AppleCare+ would be a good way to get international warranty, you can buy it at purchase time or up to 60 days after purchase.
